Beginning genealogy, my Peace Corps days, web design hints, Christmas news letters. No fancy graphics, no frames, plain colors and a lot of left-justified text.
|Welcome to my Web site. You will probably want to jump to one of the sections below. Before you do, please take 23 seconds to visit Care2.com. When you click on their button, (mine is just a copy) you will see small, tasteful advertisements. The corporations behind the advertisements will donate money to the Nature Conservancy to buy land in rainforests. The drug that stopped our son's leukemia was derived from a periwinkle in Madagascar. There are other drugs out there. They won't be discovered if the plants that carry them become extinct.|
The genealogy pages fall into two sections, public and personal. The Public pages have questions to help you interview a relative or write an autobiography, links and tips for beginning Internet genealogists. The Personal section links to my ancestors on Roots Web World Connect.
Suggestions for Christmas Newsletters
Guidelines, tips and examples drawn from myself and Alert Readers. Some wonderful parodies, too. This is for people who can never think of things to say.
I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Saratok, Sarawak from 1970 to 1972. There are some short stories I wrote about my experiences, some links to Sarawak and to the Peace Corps. I took 6,000 slides in my two years, kept 3,000 and have 34 here. These are thumbnails.
Suggestions for Student Web Builders, Suggestions for Church Web Builders and an HTML Color Demonstration with a bittersweet personal anecdote about the hexadecimal number system.
Cloyne Court, Barn Swallows, the Y2K Bug, Adventures of a Unitarian Universalist Web Master, Underground Railroad Quilt Codes. This is for things that don't fit elsewhere.
Which Ted am I?
One of the fun things you can do on the Web is look for old friends and neighbors. There are ten or twelve Ted Packs on the web. This page will tell you which one I am. It has a picture, too. (Warning - don't click on this link while you are drinking milk.)
if you still can't find what you came for.
I maintain web sites for:
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Stanislaus County, stanuu.org, a small church in Modesto, California.
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Mendocino Coast, mendouu.mcn.org, an even smaller church in Mendocino, California.
The Unitarian Universalists of Merced, a satellite of StanUU, in Merced, California.
Backcountry Horsemen of California, Mid Valley Unit, www.bchcmidvalley.org, a group dedicated to horses and back country.
Elizabeth Coard, www.modpiano.com, a wonderful pianist who gives piano lessons here in Modesto.
Clayton Valley High School, Class of 1966, the Eagles. By now many of us are "Bald" Eagles, but we try to keep together.
Best viewed at any resolution you like. Any web designer who thinks his visitors are going to change their resolution for him is foolish or naive. My site is plain as a mud fence, but I'm not stupid. You should be able to see everything, without any horizontal scrolling, in any resolution from 800 x 600 up.
