Wharf at Sibu

Wharf at Sibu

Sibu was the second biggest town in Sarawak when I was there. This is the main wharf area. There are a dozen express launches behind me. The small boats in the foreground ply the Rejang River. Some carry goods and passengers. Some are floating shops; they go to the mouth of a tributary and trade manufactured goods for pepper, rubber jungle produce and vegetables.
