One of our students in ceremonial dress at a Gawai Hantu, a festival given roughly every generation (per longhouse) in honor of the departed. The shiny threads in her skirt are thin silver wires. Costumes like this are worn only for ceremonies. Parts of them are handed down for generations. The plastic headdress is new. |
